Member Since: April 2005 Posts: 1,287 Send Message	On the 1841 census I have an Ellen Roberts born/living in Buckinghamshire, with her parents William and Susanna, on this census she is aged 5. On the 1851 census she is aged 14, still with her parents in Buckinghamshire. I am hoping/trying to find Ellens birth on the BMD as I need her birth certificate to find out her mothers maiden name. As yet I am unable to find it on Ancestry, or free BMD. Can anybody else find it?

	You wont be able to obtain a birth cert for her....she was probably born too early. Civil registration did not start intil 1837. Sue

	Even if it was, it wasn't compulsary to register births until 1875.
