Hi, can anyone tell me what the s after the page number means? I have never come across it before, but suspect that the child was adopted.
Kind regards
Nicky

Dear Nicky

S after the entry usually means supplementary entry - may mean the child was adopted or the birth entry was amended - example - the parents may have decided to name the child with an alternative name/or for instance the child was illegitimate and then the parents married/the child was named after the husband but he wasn't the father and he disputed this fact.

Thanks, Joan, I think that pretty much confirms my suspicions that the child was adopted. Thanks for your help.
