Could someone please do a search for James Emmett (could be spelt Emmitt) on the 1851:

James was born c.1822 in Heywood, Lancashire and when he married Mary Jane CHEERS in 1852 his occupation was paper maker.

His father's name was John Emmett (Coal Miner).

On later census records James was also a Coal Miner.

Thanks,
Annette

Thanks Heather,
He wasn't married before (as far as I know) he is recorded as a bachelor when he married in 1852.

I think that Higher Booth is just north of Heywood so this could be him.

Except, who is the 51 year old Edward there? Also of Higher Booth and also says block printing calicos as his job. Hmm, I dont think this is your bloke, unless he had an uncle Edward possibly?

Christina,
I think Briercliffe is nearer to Burnley but I will keep the info just incase.
Thanks for checking,

Heather,
I don't know anything about James before he married so I don't know who Edward could be.
Thanks again,

Annette

Heather,
Not sure about that one, on all census records from 1861-1891 he was recorded at being born Heywood and Colne is further north near to Burnley.
This family could be realated though, I might be able to match it up later!
Regards,
Annette
