Is it possible the marriage took place where the Parish name is different from their civil address? Have come across this with some of my ancestors, their birth place was given as Draycott in the Clay *Staffs), but the parish name was Hanbury.

It might be worth looking on Genuki for parish details.

Where should they have been in 1841?

There marriage would be before 1837.

I found all the childrens births on IGI (again all before 1837) and in the right area. I know these are correct from the census records and a document my G grandfather left with all the names on.
He was a historian and made a rough copy of the family tree on the back of a piece of wallpaper for my father and his siblings. All the names on but no dates!!

However, I have not been able to find my GG grandmother on the census with her parents. There is no trace of the family on 1841 despite going through each page of the census in the area!!

Usual warning, don't take the IGI to be 100% correct.
I would look at free BMD to see if you can find their marriage, assuming it was after 1837.
On Free BMD click on marriages and enter both surnames (if known) and hopefully this will help
Then you will have to send for the cert.

Good Luck

I am a bit of a novice when it comes to Parish Records and have just started using IGI.

I have found a marriage that appears to be my GG grandparents but in a place I was not expecting. How do I prove its them?

Also on IGI there is no parents details on the marriage so I cant find a conclusive Birth record for my GG Grandparents

Am I going about this the wrong way?

All help greatfully received
