Steph,
Benfield street runs between York road and Ingrave street,the next street along from Verona street.If You need any more info.post another message and I will endevour to answer it.The information comes from a pre-war London A-Z priced at 2/6.

Putting Battersea and Benfield into the 1881 census keyword
search on Ancestry brings up district 19a of Battersea.

Heather's reference mentions York Road and Lombard Street;
district 19a mentions Wye Street and Mantua (Man.) Street -
these are all still to be found on the modern map, near to the
Board School - which may still be standing between Wye Street
and Kambala Road? Have a look at Google maps
and Booth's Poverty maps.

If you put Benfield Street, Battersea into a google search there are lots of hits, including this rather interesting site where people talk of their childhoods in Battersea including Benfield Street:

I am trying to find the location of 4 Benfield Street, Battersea. I don't think the street exists anymore, does anyone know where I can find a map or details regarding this street?
