Marriage for Mary Ann Alice's parents, they were possibly cousins.

I am tearing my hair out! I could never find my ggrandmother's birth and then discovered that all the children (to the same man) were not registered in his name. Turns out she was his 'housekeeper' (occupation on 1901 census) in more senses than one. Anyway, they eventually married in 1930 and I suspected this was because she was already married and waiting for him to die. When I got the marriage cert - bingo - she was down as a widow.

Her name on the marriage cert is Mary Ann Alice Tubby. However, depending on which certs you look at sometimes she is Alice Mary Ann and sometime Mary Ann Alice. According to the census she was born in 1872. I know her maiden name was Grapes and I have found two possible births for her - one in 1870 and one in 1872 both the correct area of Norfolk.

However, try as I may, I cannot find a marriage to a Tubby. I have found a marriage to a Benjamin Wright in 1892 though.

Could she have been so 'unlucky' as to have been a widow to him too and then married a Tubby and so I should look for a marriage under Wright to a Tubby?
