Was he a casualty in the war? Kevin Asplin's excellent site has a list of casualties - they are listed in surname order on page 2.

Unfortunately I don't know which regiment he was in. But thank you for telling me that the NA have details. I must try to visit.

Do you know which regiment he was in? It would be essential to know this,and if so, you would be able to trace his service at the National Archives. Not online - you'd have to go there, or get someone to go for you.
