If he was the Order of St Benedicts (Catholic) - I have a booklet which could list him.

What's his name?

Silly question probably, but have you tried googling his name in quotes?
I did that for one of mine and the whole entry in Crockfords came up.

If it is C of E, Crockfords will give where he trained. I checked for my uncle and was then able to get his ordination papers and I also contacted one of the colleges he trained at who then sent me some photo's of the class. Cost less then a certificate to get it all and there was a baptism certificate in there too

You could try the Crockfords database (C of E), although I'm not sure which dates it covers.

Hi, I know that one or other of my G G uncles took religious orders and I have discovered an old photograph taken in Brighton circa 1900 showing him in his full regalia. Does anyone know if there are records kept of people who entered the church for any/all denominations and which are accessible. I understand that catholic and baptist faiths were popular in Brighton at the time and would like to be able to check their records.
