Don't know if this might help.

I attended a meeting recently titled "Little Italy - Clerkenwell" It was about an Italian area of London in Victorian times. Very interesting.

The lecturer was Tudor Allen, who is Senior Archivist at Camden Local Studies & Archives. He seemed to know a lot about some of the families and where in Italy they originated.

You could try to contact him. I guess google will find him.

Hi All - does anyone have any useful websites/places to look if one is trying to research Italian ancestry? My GGrandad was Italian, and we have the history after he moved to London. I want to go back further, so does anyone know if there is an English language website where I might begin? I now live in Spain, so cannot visit any UK locations regularly (although I will next time I am in the UK, If anyone knows a place to look!) Easier on the web?
Mille Grazie/Thanks
Ben
