Hello Bren -Have you tried the gale newspaper site for trials?http://access.gale.com/gdctrial/ put "none "in institution field and "international in location and just fill in other fields with your details -they have Britiash newspapers indexed up to 1900-Good luck Heather

In the 1851 census I have found a missing ancestor a police constable along with another police constable listed as a visitors at a lodging house in Dale St
Was the court anywhere near there or a prison? .I think they would be there having escorted a prisoner from Oldham to Liverpool and would have been called to give evidence
Where would I find records of Liverpool assizes or reports of trials?
