Marie and everyone

Thanks this site is excellent. Also if you go on www.archive.org some of the books are fully digitized and you can either do a search for the name you want or flick through them page by page and print them off.

Thanks Marie.

I have just found that my John Carter 1747 was from East Langdon in Kent while googling their books. This has been a mystery up to now. Excellent !

Thanks for this...found a copy of a poem by a distant rellie describing the family home in the 1820s!

Well worth a look.

Been using them a lot lately. Very useful.

I find using the little Snippy program very handy for copying extracts. Do a search for Snippy........it's very small and safe to use. I've installed it on my desktop so I can copy bits when I want.

I think Vista can do it anyway but Snippy's handy for earlier versions of Windows and you don't get all the extra bits you don't want like you do if you do Ctrl +Alt and Print Screen.

Evening all, just thought I would see if anyone else has used books.google.com for their searches. I have done full view searches and tried Kent and Heritage, the surname I'm researching and come up with all sorts of lovely old books with lots of data, even a whole family with deaths listed in Bengal!. It is a great site for rummaging. I dare say others have found it but it is a while since I was on here so thought I would share. Let me know what you think.

Happy rummaging
Night all
