Hi Annette,

I tried looking for Lucy, one of the rarer names. I know there are problems with the Flintshire 1861 census, but was encouraged that Baguillt was not mentioned.

I found Lucy in 1851 and 1871 fairly easily (one of about 5 or 6 Lucy Roberts of Flintshire), but she is missing from 1861. I tried finding any individuals born 1850-1852 in Bag* on the Wales 1861 census, and none looked as if they could be Lucy Roberts mistranscribed. However, quite a lot of these were living in Holywell, and that is a place where there are many omissions:

4266
4270
4272
4274 and
4276.

It may well be that the family were enumerated on one of these?

Thanks very much Rose.

Could someone please check to see if the rest of the family are living in Bagillt?

The ages of the famlily are fairly constant on the other census I have already found, so searching for Hugh Roberts born 1810-1812 Flintshire shouldn't bring up too many!

If they were found (without Margaret living with them) I would be sure that the record Rose has found is definately my 2 x Great Grandma, Margaret.

Thanks in advance.
Annette

Would someone please try to find my Roberts family on the 1861 census; they would be living in Bagillt, Flintshire.

This is them on the 1851:
Hugh Roberts age 40, Occ: Smelter
Wife Eleanor age 34
Children - Sarah 15, Edward 12, Mary 8, Ann 5, Elizabeth 3 & twins Eleanor & Lucy 6mths.
Living at "Dee Bank" in Bagillt.
All born Bagillt, Flintshire.

My Great Great Grandma Margaret was born in 1853 so she would be included on the 1861.

Thanks,
Annette
