It would be worth looking at the images for both references to the marriage. One of them may have been mistranscribed. Try and do this before you order the cert.

Thank you for your reply Dorothy, there seems to be some confusion about the marriage. I have Vol and page no but James Prickett is the only name that comes up, Annes name comes up with the same page no but later in the year and when you click on the page only her name comes up, I seem to be going round in circles with this.

I don't understand the registrations for your couple.

Perhaps others can explain that lettering after the number?

You only need one name to order a certificate though, so perhaps order James with the reference you have, TICK that you have full registration number, ( or it is dearer). Leave blank any info about his wife.

Her name was Ann Tribes c.1819 and they were married in Narberth in 1840.

What was her name?

I've just looked on Ancestry and James has a C after the numbers.

You can order certificates online for £7, ...don't pay more although some sites ask much higher fees

Thanks for your reply. I have had a problem finding their marriage, they are both listed in 1840 in different quarters James is listed in the 2nd quarter and I have now found his wife Ann listed on the 4th quarter of the year. The vol. no and page no are the same for both except on hers it has a c after the page, have you any idea what that means and can I just order the certificate from the Nat Record Office at Kew or do I have to order it from Wales. Sorry to be a bit dense.

Do you know his father's name....from James marriage certificate?

This will help.
You may find the family then on the familysearch site.

I would like some advice please as I have only been doing this a couple of weeks.I have traced my fathers family back to 1818, a James Prickett born c.1818 in Martletwy, where do I go from here, does this mean I can only get more information about his parents and siblings (I already have the details of his wife and children) by going to look at the Parish Records at the Nat Library of Wales.
