Hi Sue and Peter,
Thanks for your replies.
I couldnt make my mind up about it, but your replies have decided for me. I've just been busy entering them on to my tree.
How I know about the other marriages, is because other people who are descended from the other marriages have contacted me with the information.
It is interesting to record what happened to the spouses when their wives/husband's die.

Personally, yes I would.

I don't normally research the lines any further, unless someone contacts me and establishes a connection.

It's your tree so you can do what you like.

I do record other wives and husbands because they are part of an ancestor's life.

I sometimes put on step siblings for the same reason.

It all adds to the whole picture of a person.

But it is up to you what you do.

Hi,
I'm updating my family tree at the moment. I've come across
one of my female ancestors who married a widower who had a son.
Do I record the widower's first wife and her son. I wouldnt normally have bothered recording the first wife, as she is nothing to do with my family. But just wondered about the son from his first marriage.
Just interested what other people on here would do about it?

Also I have a female ancestor who died, and then her husband married twice more after her death. Seeing as he had been in the family through marriage, would you bother to record his other wives?
