The marriage isn't in those years and it's too slow at the moment to do any more, sorry.

Hi Linda,

Do you subscribe to Ancestry, if so you can look at all the images qtr by qtr not just the transribed ones.

When you go to the BMD page on Ancestry, click on Compete Indexes, not the partial.

You then enter the name and year + or - however many you want and then search qtr by qtr.

Added, I'm doing 04-06 but they are very slow loading at the moment

Christine, as I am a really new learner, I don't know the difference between full indexes and transcribed ones, please could you explain. Thanks for Agnes, I'll check her out - could be my gandfather's older sister, as he was born in April 1909.

Thanks
Linda

Thank you to all of you for those answers. On my grandfather's birth certificate he was a Brewery Manager (yes!!), but I believe that later on he owned a Kipper Fleet in Aberdeen, Scotland. I really was trying to find the marriage certificate, and thought it was just me being dumb as I'm new to this game! I had managed to find all census information and the younger 2 birth certificates, plus his parents marriage certificate. I think he would have got married between 1900 and 1906, but have not had any luck looking through marriages for then. Perhaps he was "abroad" somewhere!

I wondered if he was a soldier, that's why I was asking what his occupation was on the birth certs, thought maybe the marriage and other births were abroad.

Linda Report 19 Jun 2008 08:22

I have just started to research my family tree and cannot find the marriage of my great grandfather to my great grandmother, and wondered if anyone had any suggestions.
Charles Hall Trimmer married Barbara Brown.
He was born on 17 December 1874 in Alton, Southampton, England.
2 of their youngest children were born in Ely, Cambridgeshire in 1909 and 1912.
I do not find a trace of him in the 1901 census either, or record of their 2 older children - Donald and Betty (probably Elizabeth).

Many thanks
Linda
