Hi, if you look on page 4 of the tips board you will find the template. It's from Joy aka Kentish Maid.
I'll nudge it for you

Lots of local Register offices are really helpful, send them all the info you can, with a cheque and sae, and if they can't find it they will return your cheque. Some of them will phone you up to confirm details, some will stick it in the bin - they vary, but worth a try.

I've not seen the letter but a volume and page number would be of no use to a Register Office, they are GRO references and Register Offices don't use them.

about a month ago someone posted a letter you could use for the registry office to obtain certificates, without actually knowing the precise date of birth but providing them with the volumn number and page number . this letter was a great template but i cannot find it...... it advised to send cheques separately for each certificate so they can send it back if not found......

I can do my own but this letter was great and someone replied that they worked at a registry office and the letter had all the information required.....

has anyone got this letter
