if you view the actual image (not just the transcription) on Ancestry, you can then go back through the images to find a street name - looks like Kensington Garden Square, and that Ethel Pearson was at number 46 with the head of the house being Effie J Dunster, occupation housekeeper, there are lots of people in the house so looks like it was some sort of boarding house

if you are viewing the image and click at top where it says (in this case) St John, Paddington (i.e. immediately before the district number, you then get a list of districts and can view a description of ED 23, which then gives a list of all the street addresses which form part of the district - unfortunately it doesn't give any more detailed info

Sorry, so new at this just found the my threads bit! The name was Ethel Grace Pearson, found the details on the 1901 census, age 20 born abt 1881 parish paddington, born penrith, cumberland

Just found someone Im looking for in 1901 census, it says E D Institutuion of Vesel: 23? What does this mean?

Anyone have any suggestions?
