Hi All, Someone recently mentioned the snippy tool for selecting and saving sections of text. I have found the tool and put it on my computer, but I am not sure how to use it. Can anyone give me some really simple instructions? I would be very grateful. Cheers, Moira.

I think if you read the information about Snippy here it might help

http://www.bhelpuri.net/Snippy/

But it supposedly doesn't work with Vista.

However I found this information when searching

Vista has a built in Snipping Tool that does much the same job. Just type 'Snipping Tool' into the Vista search bar or select Programs > Accessories > Snipping Tool from the Start Menu.

Hope that helps

You could always highlight the text you want by simply dragging the mouse over it with button pressed, copying it to the clipboard and then pasting it into whatever application you want it in. Why bother with add-ons?

Snippy does more than just copy words from a word document. It allows copying of either irregular shapes ie you can draw around an image and save it or you can copy as a rectangle a part of the screen in front of you.

You can use Ctrl+Alt and Print Screen but that copies an entire screen which involves having to then remove extra bits you don't want.

Using Snippy means you can easily copy bits of information online which are not normally downloadable but the information is saved as a jpeg.
