Hi All,

I was given some help on this family a while back to find the parents death. i now have all the childrens birth etc but out of them i can only trace three of them after 1901.

George William Williams married Jane Harper in Lambeth in 1881. they had these children together:

Robert George (1882) possibly marries Crowhurst 1904 Battle
Jane (1883) possibly marries Shoebridge 1909 Battle
Adelaide (1885 ) possibly marries battle 1905 battle.
Albert (1886-1892)
Constance (1889)
Gilbert (1890)
Sidney (1893)
Horace (1894)
Ivy (1895-1901)
Eva (1896- 1989) Marries Gannaway 1919 Greenwich
Elsie (1898)
Gretchen (1900)
Daisy (1906) Marries Upfold Date unknown

Robert and Jane were born lambeth. all others Mountfield, Sussex.

The only children i can follow for certain are eva (my ancestor) who married Sydney Gannaway in 1919 in Greenwich, Elsie who never married and lived next to Eva and Sydney for most of her life and Daisy who i know to have married Doug Upfold (although as yet i have not got the cert for this.)

i assume horace, gilbert and sydney would have been in the first world war but can find no records for service or pensions or on the CWGC to fit. i also can't find any marriages for any of them.or any children for the three eldest for whom i have found marriages. any ideas where to look next would be great.

i think i may have just found a death record for Gilbert aged 15 in Hastings 1906. his father died there in 1917 so i think it must be him. well atleast thats an option for him.

It may be worth looking through the complete index on Ancestry for marriages of the others - probably the later years aren't transcribed yet, so aren't on the searchable one.

Also, looks like Adelaide did indeed marry Mr.Battle -

Nora W Battle b. Jun qtr 1912 Stow 4a 1792 mother Williams

Joyce E Battle b. Mar qtr 1915 Stow 4a 1832 mother William (could be an error?)

thats great. I have sydney and eva's marriage and one of the witnesses is her brother sidney so i know he was atleast alive in 1919, but i have no other information about him. thanks for looking for me Kate.
