Hi. Query for the tekkies. I want to send the info on my tree to a contact who doesn't have a computer. Is it possible to download a gedcom to a Word document that I can print off?

Any suggestions would be welcome. I also have a tree on Tribal Pages if this would be easier.

Only understand basic computer language!! Y

You can open a Gedcom in word, but whether you can understand it is a different matter! Try it and see what I mean, it is in a long list format and really is difficult to follow.

Do you have an offline programme that you could print a report from?

Sorry Keith - I did say only understand basic computer.

I do have a tree on FTM2005 - is that what you mean by off line? If so how do I print it. Sorry to be an ignoramus. I'm a late comer to pc use. Y

I'll try to help you, I think so with FTM,

Open a new word doc

Click on the oldest ancestor in your FTM tree on the Geneology Report Icon, stay there and:

then go to Edit at the top (2nd one in) , says copy Genelogy report.

Click on this and then click into the new word doc and press paste, it should appear there.

I hope this helps you.

Kind regards
Amanda
