As this person still has a tree on GR they are still a member even if their subs have expired.
If they haven't changed their email address, they will still get a message from GR to say they have a pm

I suspect they will get a message from GR ...as a way of getting them to rejoin.

Oh brilliant......thanks for that, don`t know if they still have a tree on here or not, or if they ever did, she was just someone who did look ups for Cambridge {she had all the discs}, not a relative at all............hopefully then she will get my message.

Nicky
Why dont you ask if anyone else has the discs for Cambridgeshire . Your previous contact wont be able to view your message I dont think. Someone will correct me if Im wrong .They will get a message from GR to say there is one waiting for her.

As long as the person is still a member, they will be able to read their messages and to reply to them. The things that only a financial member can do are: view other trees, initiate contact with other members and post on these message boards. Everything else is the same for financial & non-financial members.

Of course it doesn't guarantee that they are still interested, and that they will still actually be checking their messages, etc etc!

You only cease to be a member if you remove your details from the site altogether.

Nicky - as Margaret suggested, someone else on here may have the discs. If not, you could try the familytreeforum website.
I'm sure someone in one of these sites would be able to help.

Richard and Peter...thanks for confirming how the GR set up works when you no longer subscribe... always useful to know if I feel like saving myself £10.00 next renewal date.

Bee......am a member of FTF already so may give it a go.

Chrisc.....I took a look at Parishchest when you posted about it last week, so will bare it in mind, unfortunatley Cambridge is only 1 line of the family, I need Parish records for virtually every county in England, and some in Scotland ,not to mention Greece and Turkey..........a very spread out family....... so where I can I get look ups done.

Sorry Chris ,you misunderstood me, I wasn`t asking where I could trace all my far flung rellies,...........just trying to point out that with them being so spread out I couldn`t possibly buy all the records, and that where I can i ask for look ups..

I know some people have a lot of different lines of rellies all in 1 county....I`m afraid my reasearch is much wider spread.

No need to apologise Chris, I probably didn`t explain myself very well....I appreciate your input and offer of help, I don`t use family relatives.com very often ,but will take a look......thanks for the tip.
