Not so good if you don't know exactly where to look. I know my gran was living in Birmingham 1911 but where exactly, I don't know. I'm just going to have to wait till 2012

For information:

I have just received my order from the National Archives; I completed an order form online for the "basic research service" which is an address search on the 1911 census.

The search costs £45.00 (£38.30 + £6.70 VAT) and you will need:
1) The house number and street name
2) The county eg. Lancashire
3) The Civil Parish (there is a list of all 1911 Civil Parishes (for each county) to choose from

There is more information on The National Archives website.

It is advisable to be sure about the address, county and civil parish you request the search for because there is no refund if they don't find the correct census page (from the info you provide them with).

It is quite expensive but I needed to know where my Great Granddad was born and didn't want to wait until the 2012 publish date.

The service worked for me but I did have evidence that my family lived at the address in 1909 and 1913. I also found the address on the 1891 and 1901 first to confirm the Civil Parish.
