Paul

Theree a site called mylostaccount or something like that - haven't got the address to hand, but Google should find it. Just a question of filling in an online form with the details and they will investigate.

Hi Paul,
Here in the U.S. there is a web site that we can go to which will direct us to any State where we think there may be 'Forgotten Money' It is the law here that any financial institution that has unclaimed money after X number of years has to turn it in to the State Controller. We just type in a name and any money owed to anyone with that name automatically shows up. Maybe there is something like that in place in the UK.

Also....... You could post your question on genealogy.com Go to the site, click on community, Click Countries, Click England, Click Regions, Click London,England.

If I can help, just holler !

Good Luck .

My mother has remembered opening a building society account when she was first married, that she never closed. Trouble is, she can't remember the name of the building society!

It was opposite Marks & Spencers and Goodban's department store, near to the old fire station.

Can anybody out there help? Whatever it was, it's not there now. 50 years of interest may have built up a tidy sum!
