A relation of mine was baptised --Anna, Registered Hannah, known by some family members as Ann(e), or Annie. Apart from buying all the Marriage and death documents in their various spellings, how can I narrow things down. She was born in 1907--so no census info. How about schools records ( for Liverpool) ? Cheers--Phil.

Not sure what you want to prove. you say she was registered as Hannah her birth cert will confirm that .if she married then the marriage cert will again confirm her identity.
My gran was Emma Ann but her second hubby called her Annie . the family knew her as both names depending on which family member talked about her.

Is your relative Roman Catholic? I have a g g aunt Hannah, whose baptismal record gives her name as Anna.

Thanks everyone for taking the trouble to reply. I found my aunt Hannah's baptism & birth certificates ( the first for Nov 1907--the other Jan 1908) She's the only one of 8 children I have not been able to trace after birth. I've found very few Hannah's or Anna in marriages for the Lancashire area--all negatives, and no deaths either. There are several posibles scattered all over the country, but not knowing for sure if she married, ---are they her married name I'm seeing--or her maiden name I was told she did get married and have children, then moved south--but? When her mother remarried in 1942-- (24yrs widowed) one witness signed the certificate--A Casey. There are no other family member's with that innitial. Major Bloodnock , and Margaret in Sussex ( in the south !!) how can we exchange further info without infringing GR rules? Regards Philip.
