How do I get names in tree to stay as capitals?

Betty, no copy and paste doesn't work.

MGHS, I keep 2 separate trees - my GR public tree and my private offline FTM tree. The scope of the latter is much wider than my online tree, which is why I've never copied it to GR as a ged.

My FTM tree actually started life as a download of my GR tree. It is interesting to see how much of my data later corrupted itself in the GR tree - death dates changing places, marriage details disappearing, even the odd individual jumping from one branch to another! The same information has stayed absolutely sound in my offline tree.

What about copy and paste them as capitals, does that not work, I know it would take more time to do this but if it works then it works.

Thanks Claire. Nuisance isn't it!

I've noticed other members use methods like adding stars to their direct line names but, unfortunately, that makes them impossible to search for. The capital letters method seemed foolproof but alas isn't GR proof! ;o)

I've tried to this before & failed so the only thing I can think of is your contact has imported a Gedcom file

Recently, I've noticed quite a few contacts' trees have names in capital letters. Brilliant, I thought, and immediately set about changing all my direct line names in my tree to capitals. It would make it so much easier to navigate AND wouldn't hinder the search function.

I have just reopened my tree and all the names are back to lower case again! Arghhhh! All that wasted time!

There must be a way of capitalising names and getting them to stay that way but how is it done, please?
