Can you trace a stilbirth?

she bteathed - so she lived - her birth should have been registered in the normal way - as should her death .

she wont be on the still birth register, because she wasnt stillborn

Thank you for all your info on this, its much appreciated and i will investigate further. Just been to the cemetary where 'Kathleen' was buried family wern't sure if there was a headstone but to no avail.....time for a cuppa.

Her death would probably have been registered. A search of the complete index on Ancestry might find it - sorry I can't offer to do it, my eyes go after a couple of pages. I have searched for Kathleen in 1959 and can't find her. Maybe somebody with better eyes can search further.

My mother had a sister who only lived 2 hours, so not technically a stillbirth, she was buried in an unmarked grave. How would you go about finding 'Kathleen' as my mother doesn't think the birth was registered.

For info. Kathleen/Cathleen Mitchell approx 1959 father Alexander mother Margaret buried St Johns Church Upperby Carlisle.
