thans gwyn for the info im not sure if he was in the army but do no when he married grandma they did end up having a hat shop

Was your grandfather in the Army?
If so, you can write to the Polish section and get records.
Some can be quite detailed, ...others are more brief, but show birthplace.
I will find address to write to if you need it.
Records are £ 30.

i never thought about the polish embassy ill go and have a look and email them to say what they say

Hi Tinky i am currently trying to find my father in laws birth cert and citizenship papers he was from Hungary, I am just about to ring the Home office for advice so i will get back to you with any info i get, you could try the Polish Embassy in England for advice just google polish embassy in england and it should come up get a phone number and ring them, good luck let me know how you get on and i will do the same for you.

Hello Im looking for some advice please

my granddad was married and died in england but was born in Poland and I was wondering if there are any records where i could look at to find his birth please (something like Ancestry but for Poland (hope this makes sense lol
