To the left of this message, on your screen, you should see a box for doing a Search. Enter Irish Sites and you will be presented with a ton of information in the form of people's questions and answers.
In particular, you might like to look at one entitled IRISH SITES, posted by Inis (page 2).

I would suggest you bookmark any of the postings you find particularly helpful (you will see Bookmark This in the little Top Tips box to the left of the screen)click on Bookmark This and the post will be saved. Any time you want to look at it in the future, all you need to do is click on My Bookmarks.

Hi
Can anyone give any tips on good sites to visit for irish ancestors. I seem to have numerous links with Ireland but always get stuck when a relative was born or married there because there is no online information. My gt grandmother was born in Belfast. Her name was Mary Topping and she was born in 1884. How can I find her parents ?

Also another relative was born in Sri Lanka and I would love to know his parentage. That one has really baffled me. I think his father may have been a soldier. Can any one suggest why his family may have been there ? He was born in 1845.
