butcher--but where to find what shop

I would start by looking near where he was living at the time of the 1861 census. Was he living in the same place in 1871 ?

I have lots of Butchers too...if he owned the shop he might have insurance details on the A2A site. Ive found quite a few.

Kelly’s directories for the town and time if there is some, try your library first.

If he was the owner or proprietor, you may find him listed in a trade directory for that period.

hiya, my ancestor was a butcher in my local town in the 1860'sish and i would love to know what butchers shop he worked at or possibly owned but not sure where to look, any ideas. thanx
