Stu

I am with Heather on this....

And the following is based on my assumption that the family are not related to you and you are just trying to help.

If the film company had to pay professional researchers by the hour they would be paying out 'mega bucks' :)

Sorry to say it but I think they have found a kind soul (you) willing to do research (for them) free.

Cor, its kind of you, but blimey, shouldnt the film company be spending a bit of their money on this, not relying on you and others to do free look ups for them?

Thankyou Gwyn in Kent, I had found the first two but not the two for 1921.

I have now had it confirmed that the marriage I found in Darlington in 1914 for a Erland R Sanders is indeed Erland Russell Sanders.

I though it might be of interest to explain why I posted the question.

I recently received my quarterly Family History magazine and there was a request in it from a researcher who works for a Toronto film company. They are making a documentry film on the battle of Cambrai in 1917 and are interested in a tank Commander by the of Erland Russell Sanders . . . . this was Erland Wigham's son. She is trying to track down descendants of Erland Russell but she couldn't find them on the 1901 census. I live close to where the family were living in 1891 so I thought I would try and help.

The Thomas R D born in Darlington must be their son. As the researcher is trying to track down descendants of the family I now need to look for his marriage and any children now . . . . . any help would be appreciated!

She has been very pleased with the information I (and the help of Genes members) have given her.

The one born in 1854 was Russell's Father. Russell was indeed born in 1887.

The marriage I have found in 1914 - I would like to know if it's him or not . . . . . however as K says there can't be many Erland's around!

I guess I'll have to buy the cert!

I have been searching for the marriage of Erland Russell Sanders.

I have found a possiblity in the marriage of a Erland R Sanders to Cecilia Drewery in June 1914, Darlington.

Apart from buying a copy certificate is there any way I can discover if the R stands for Russell?
