Good.

Live Mail options are similar to Outlook. It does take a bit of finding, though, if you are not sure where to look.

Hi Peter,
Thanks have now managed to do that, not the same as my old Windows XP.
Recently got this laptop so not sure about things on Vista. I am on Windows mail.

Tools, Options, Spelling then untick the box re checking spelling before sending.

Are you you using Outlook Express?

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the info I will try it with the spell check off and see how I get on, however my spelling isn't very good at the best of times.

The option to turn off automatic spell checking is under Tools, Options, Spelling, both for Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail.

As I said earlier, if you don't want to spell check on a particular message, just hit the cancel button then the first word is queried.

Yes thats what I meant Betty -

say you are a bit like me and make up spelling - for example - "gawd" ? Well if it underlines gawd (which it has done now on here :) - and you click "ignore all" - it will ignore all instances of "gawd" but will carry on checking everything else for you.

You need to switch the whole spell check off.

Ignore all means ignore all instances of that particular word. It will still go on to check everything else.

You need to hit Cancel to stop checking altogether.

Betty, I dont use Windows mail, I use Outlook, but maybe there is a cancel button to stop the spell check?
As mentioned, I think ignore all will just ignore all instances of that specific word.

Hi Heather,

Every time I click on Ignore all it just doesn't, it goes over every single word.

Ignore all is usually specific to one word that it doesnt recognise isnt it?

When you send an e-mail and it does a spell check and you say Ignore all, why doesn't it Ignore all but continues to check every last word?
