what proof /married 1911

You wouldn't have needed proof of age. My grandparents got married in 1912. She said she was 28 (she was 23). He said he was 39 (he was 42). They just made the 19 year age difference appear to be only 11 years.

I got married in 1969 and didn't have to give any proof of age.

My great grandparents got married in 1924. It states g grandad as a bachelor and g grandma as spinster.
G grandma WAS a spinster with 9 pregnancies by great grandad and another by someone else before she met g grandad.
Great grandad however was widower. They'd waited until wife No.1 died before they got married!!!

So not a lot, I wouldn't have thought!!

can any one tell me what proof would have been needed to get wed in 1911.age on cert is 28 yrs, father named but deceased.we think ggran lied about her age .can only find one girl in cens who would have been aged 28yrs in 1911 an iv been told its not her.
