Thanks for that Chica. I`ll see what bargain I can find as I haven`t got a lot of spare cash and as you say there`s the cartridges as well. They`re always a killer - which is why I still have a very basic one ...lol!!

yes, there is a huge selection around now. The cartridges can be expensive though if you have a lot to do. So you need to take that into account. I only now print off photos if I especially want them for display purposes. I have them stored on disc as well as in albums on PC. I think it is nice having a hard copy just to look at when you want, I have lots of the "oldies" in black and white which I have printed off on a really cheap printer. Try and get one with the highest resolution for the amount you want to spend which will give lovely photos. Go for it and have fun!

Hi Jay

We have a printer that my son bought for us - he paid about £50 for it. It does colour, black and white and it's a scanner as well - the scanner part is a doddle - as easy as a photocopier. The quality is excellent. I've copied old photos and printed them out - they're fabulous. It's a (can I say the brand name?) 5 letters beginning with C and ending with n. If anyone can they can ...

It's a fairly new model of theirs - son bought it in February.

I have just a basic printer.
Is it worth splashing out and buying one of the many photo printers advertised so I can print off decent copies of old photos that I`ve been given, or are they really better suited to just digital photo printing ?
