Sam Bassett 61

HO107; Piece: 1477; Folio: 567; Page: 32

from the original image, Elizabeth Arnold is actually a 75 year old widow, living next door, nothing to do with them.

samuel is still a smith as he was in 41.

I can't find a Pinden in Middlesex and the image is very badly written, so I wonder if it is Pimlico,

Genuki has the

"ST. GEORGE HANOVER SQUARE, a parish in the city of Westminster, county Middlesex."

"PIMLICO, a parochial district, formerly a chapelry, in the parish of St. George Hanover Square, borough and city of Westminster, county Middlesex, 3 miles W. by S. of St. Paul's. It was constituted a separate ecclesiastical district by an order in council in July, 1830. It is bounded on the E. by St. James's and the Green Parks, and belongs to the Grosvenor family. "

On the original image this looks like one family with parents Samuel and Elizabeth and a tribe of children, though of course the younger ones may not be theirs

I will try to find them in the next census

Hi out there. I've finally found what I believe to be my Bassett line in London..Samuel (b1791)and Elizabeth (nee Carter b 1796): in residence at St George Hannover Square, London (1841 census) Listed with these 2 certain rellos, are 2 groups of children that don't seem to be of the one family..Ann 1821, James 1821, Samuel 1871, William 1827 (my gggrandfather) Georgena 1832, Joseph 1835, Luesa 1835, and Elizabeth 1824...then there's another group of children with no parents listed..William 25,Thomas aged 20, Mary aged 20, and Henry aged 20. I'm thinking that this second set of children may be the children of Samuel Snr's brother..who ever he is. Is there anyone out there who can direct me to somewhere that I can find out the siblings/parents of Samuel snr..and where Samuel Snr may have been born? William 1827 arrived in Australia in the 1850's (we think), but we can't find his entry point into Australia on shipping records. Any help would be greatly appreciated...I've hit a 'brick wall' and don't know where to look to complete the English part of our family tree. Many thanks. Kindest regards, Rosie.
