German ancestors using the surname metcalfe

I have German ancestors using this the surname metcalfe.I know this is a yorkshire name could it have been anglizised?

most probably My paternal grandparent and grt grandparents were German and the two eldest sons anglicized their name from Fahse to Fasey and married under that name my grandad was one of them plus they both lied and said the were British and joined the British Army in the 1890,s.Fortunately I was able to find their Army records with addresses on for Se London and found the grt grandparents there on the 1901 still using the German name altho they too lied and said they were British Subjects but no naturalization records found.
You may have to search on addresses to find them using their German name
