Have found a Sardis now in 'Carmarthenshire' which might fit with the C*S.

Thanks Kath

Now I look again I don't think it is an 'L'. Off to search some more.

Am trying to find her on the 1891 census but can't find a Margaret Richards (maiden name) born in Sardis, Wales. She had a child who was living else where as a nursling.

It looks more like C.W.S. or C.N.S. to me.

I'd say the Sardis in Pembrokeshire would be most likely.

1901 Census

Margaret Burns
born: 1870 .. Sardis, Wales
Living: Fleetwood, Lancashire

On the census there is fainter writing after Percy Burns birthplace which says 'Pembroke' and after Margaret Burns birthplace it says what looks like 'C L.S' ??

There are 3 Sardis' in Wales and am trying to narrow it down .. her marriage was registered in Haverfordwest District.

Thanks

Melanie
