Hello kelly

I guess it is possible that he was born in1861 Banbury and registered very shortly after afterwards at Birmingham. Because in the 71 census ,there is his younger sister Sarah aged 9 ,Charles age 10 Banbury . Sarah is stated as being born in Birmingham, so obviously the family must have moved from Banbury to Birmingham round about his birth. But I would go with Alex's suggestion that his birth is the one registered in 1860 Banbury- not the Birmingham one as he his living in Banbury in 1861 age 13 months, with George and Sarah

I think George was lodging with Phoebe Goldingays family in 1881in Aston ,Warwks occupation - Lampmaker. Also a widower

Funny thing is, a George Giles married a Phoebe Goldingway JAS 1878 Birmingham !. Perhaps this is George son of George

G'day Kelly,
There was a Charles Giles born in Banbury in March 1860 and your Charles in Birmingham in Jun 1861. There is also a Charles Edward born in Sept 1861 in Birmingham whose fathers name was Henry.
There is an Annie Lot born Birmingham 1861 in the 1881 Census and a birth record for Dec 1860 in Birmingham for Ann Maria Lott. There is also a marriage record for Anna Maria Lott and Charles Giles in Dec 1881 in Aston Warwickshire.

Was George's occupation a Coach Painter? If so he was born in 1838 in St Nicholas, Warwick. In the 1881 census he is living in Derby with his wife Jane M born 1832.

Send me a PM if you need more info chased down.
Cheers
Alex

p.s i am going to request his birth cert tomorrow.
His details are Charles Giles born in 1861 around June i think, he married an Ann Maria Lott in 1881. His father on the marriage cert is George Giles i do not know his mother's name yet!!!!!!

Hi to anyone who can help i am currently tracing a relative and can find him in the 1901 census records, i have also just recieved his marriage cert, In the 1901 census it states that he was born in Birmingham, it also states this on the birth record but in 1881, 71,and 61 the only Charles Giles given was born in Banbury in Oxfordshire? is it possible that he was born in Banbury but his parents registered him in Birmingham as that is where they are all living in these times. Sorry if i have confused anyone.
Kindest regards Kelly
