Possibly the family moved up to the North east after the 1901 census following the coal seams. There were lots of mines in the area,so lots of job opportunities, maybe Gerrard had already moved up in 1901, who knows!

story of my life really!!! i have the family name Kew also which i thought would be easy but its proving to be the hardest one out of all of them.. never mind thankyou for trying. the daughter Annie married my g-grandfather in Sunderland so dunno why she was up here when her family were further down the country..

sorry Linda but the 1901 has him at aged 33.. he should be about 10 yrs older than that, the gerrard with parents gerrard and ann is a pawnbrokers assistant. the gerrard i want is a colminer and has no sons called gerrard..

I deleted the 1901 Gerrard because he was single and a pawn broker

thats the one for 1891, so the 1901 must be right for Sarah.. where was gerrard?? god knows where!!

hi linda, think thats the wrong one as his parents were Gerrard and Ann, the one born in chowbent has a wife called Sarah A, they are aged 25 in the 1881 census

he is the same age as Sarah, and the 1881 says he was born Chowbent the marriage is 1874 Leigh.. I thought he`d be easy to find with the name Gerrard but it`s not to be..

hi there, can any kind person find a Sarah A Higson in the 1901 census please. shae was born abt 1852 in Tyldesely and lived in i think Tyldesley cum Shakerly.. may have children Ellen aged 13, Harold aged 15, the others may have left home..
