There are a lot of con merchants offering to get certs for people. Some are even more expensive than £25.

You can get certificates from

As long as you have the GRO reference number, they will cost £7.

Just a quicky...

Now I have found what I believe to be my grandparents on my father side, the only way to confirm it is to get a copy of his birth certificate.

Thing is..I don't know who to contact to see about getting a copy.
Newbie!

I'm lead to believe he was born in Portsmouth..so who, which, people in Pompey do I need to contact.? City Council?

Also..any idea of how much it should cost.?

I know its a basic thing..but I really don't know.

Thanks in Advance!

:)
