Hi it is me again still lookig for help on Mabel Allen born 1920 do not know where, she married Frederick Goldsmith 1940 in Norwich and
she died 1942 in Norwich Norfolk..
Her father was Arnold Allen and her mother Frances ? I don`t know if or when they got married I can find no wedding for Arnold Allen. Arnold was born 1879 in Whitwell Norfolk and is on 1891 census nothing after that. Both Arnold and Frances died in Norwich and are burried with Mabel.
I did get help twice before and sent enquired about both certs one for mothers maiden name Clarke the other Smith but no good.
Very grateful for any help. I am going away for few days so will check any messages when I return.

Maybe Arnold went abroad and married and Mable was born there too, Just an idea.

Her fathers occupation on the cert may help

assuming Mabel was 20 when she married then born c 1920 which would make Arnold around 41 years old So Mabel may be a younger child and you may need to broaden the search for a marriage time wise for Arnold and Frances for instance my parents married in 1930 and their youngest was born in 1949.

Do you have the marriage cert for Mabel ?

Ok my assumption was correct on Mabels age,had a look for the death and found it as follows

sorry lost track on your original post that Mabel was born 1920, but at least the death does confirm its c1920 !!

Maybe Arnold isnt on the 1901 cos he joined the army and was away in the Boar War

The name of the father and a sister match the '81 return and in the '81 he is listed as Arnold C.

mabels father Arnold occupation on her wedding cert is Retired Store Quarryman.

It's probably Stone Quarryman. If that were his job, I doubt he worked in Norfolk, knowing the geology of that area.

Hi Joan I did find Frances Han[n]ah Smith 1901, she
is a Kitchen maid 21y in London --- St George
Hanover Sq.
Arnold still dos'nt seem to be on the 1901 I hav;nt found him in army records and Mabel dos'nt seem to have been born abroad,
Looks as if you will have to wait for the 1911 to see
whos on that,
