Can anyone help? I,d like to know if there is any way that I can find out who lived at a particular address in the 1920s in the Halifax area of England.

It is possible that there is an entry in the Electoral Register.

However, it would probably mean a visit to the local library.Why not give them a call and check if they could help. You never know, they might be prepared to do a look up for you.

Update re whereabouts of Electoral Roll for Halifax area

Records of those eligible to vote are available from the early 19th Century up to the present day. Due to boundary changes, the whole of Calderdale is covered only from the 1970s. Registers covering earlier years are held by the West Yorkshire Archives Service:

* West Yorkshire Archives Service
* Address
* Registry of Deeds
Newstead Road
Wakefield WF1 2DE
