Thank you Glen and Jill. I will just send for the last cert. I will have another check on the censuses just to make sure there aren't two Williams and Janes - worth a try. |

Have you looked at 1851 and 1861 censuses to see if there are two William Col(l)yers around at the time. Particularly if they both married a Jane. I know that's a real longshot but worth eliminating the possibility. |

It could be that the earlier ref was submitted twice by the registrar and therefore appears in the index twice. |

I am researching my OH gt grandparents and I have found 2 entries for their marriage. How could this happen and would the certs be both the same but some how different dates and how would I know which is the correct entry? |
