What time frame are we talking about, Meg?
This site has list of immigrants to Canada between the years 1925-1935.

Also if he came before WW1 and enlisted in the Canadian Army, the same site has attestation papers for soldiers which give a lot of info, birthdate & birthplace, name of next-of-kin, etc.

Hi Margaret

He was born in 1915, I assume he went as an adult, maybe on his own as his parents didn't go, or if they did, they came back and he stayed.

Do you know which province he came to, Meg?
All provinces have their own BMD's. British Columbia is the only province that has any recent records. They have deaths up to 1987,

Hi Margaret

I seem to remember Vancouver? being mentioned, sorry my geography is rubbish. I know he was alive in 1985 as he came over for my grannys funeral, that was the last time I saw him, I was only 11 at the time.

I have had a look at the UK passenger lists but unfortunately with such a common name as Cook it will not be possible to pin him down on these.

There's this site to find addresses and telephone numbers in Canada. Fill in last name, city Vancouver, province British Columbia. (There are a lot of Cooks)

You're very welcome. Nicki, I found my grandmother's brother on the same site, didn't know he'd ever been to Canada. He returned to England after the war.

Hi Margaret

Hope you still there. Is it the BC Archives, can't seem to get anywhere on this site, keeps throwing up an error for an index?

Any help please?

Meg

It works for me, Meg. Don't know what the problem might be. I scroll down to the vital events indexes and click on one of them.
