Apologies for coming back to you so late on this, but thank you very much. I think you're right - John Davis Stephens probably says Step son or something instead! The other family members certainly look right.

On reflection, I'm not sure the William Humphrey Price from the Elizabeth & Ellen is right, as the place as well as the year of birth seem to be out. Thanks to Rose Tea and Steve for that, though.

I've had to assume the 1851 one is correct, although I know nothing about him other than what is on the 1901 census in terms of date and place of birth.

Well done for finding the 1861 stuff - it is certainly the same family as 1851. I guess in this business you have to make a certain amount of educated guesses and assumptions.

His occupation is down as a Coal Agent (own account). I assume therefore that he was self employed.

The address is 923 Neath Road, Morriston, Swansea. The house is still there and I have taken photos of it!

What was his occupation? Was he likely to have been at sea or in the military?

Please help! You guys are all so brilliant on here that I would like to ask a favour ....

I am looking for Humphrey William Price, who appears on the 1901 census living in Morriston, Swansea, Wales with his wife Ann, stepson John (my g.grandfather) and son William Henry Price.

The census states he was born in Liverpool around 1848, however the only other census I can find with a Hum* Price born around the same time and in the same place is the 1851.

There are no sensible entries for 1891, 1881, 1871 or 1861. He just seems to have disappeared!

I want to find out if he had any other children before William and I would like to trace the Price line, as my mother remembers staying with them as a child.

I would be really grateful if you could help.
