Women always retain their maiden name otherwise you will get into a real old mess.

Dont know about looking at trees on here, I keep mine on a family tree program on my puter which is much better.

Ill will bump up some threads to help you starting out.

Hi Mike

Welcome to the addictive world of Family History!

Women should always be entered with their maiden names.

Hi,

Tonight is my start to the family tree thing and need a bit of guidance. For example, my parents, do I put them both down with my surname or should my mum retain her maiden name and so on up the tree?

Is there an example tree anywhere I can look at to get an idea?

Any advice VERY gratefully received.

Thanks, Mike
