Best site for Electoral Roll look ups?

Hi all, I need to do some searching of the recent electoral rolls. I see there are several sites that offer the service but I was wondering if one was better than the other. ie How much they charge for credits and how much each search will cost. I'm currently looking at findmypast, 192.com and TraceSmart but am a bit confuddled.

Thanks,
Liz

There are some people on Genes who have access to the recent Electoral Registers.

You could always ask for a look up (put Recent Electoral Register Look-up in your title).

This is not the sort of search that many genealogists on here do on a regular basis.

A lot depends who you expect to find. Are you talking about a single person or looking for several. Do you have an idea of the location?

If you go onto each of the main sites it will tell what the cost is. Some offer a certain amount of searches, others have unlimited searches, but with a time limit.

Hi

I have used www.onlinesearches.info before and found them extremely good and worth the money £4.75 for unlimited name searches within 1 month.

After the month you are just frozen out until you pay another 4.75

Good luck

Thanks, as I have a few searches to do, I thought I might as well purchase and help a couple of other people too. I do have a rough idea of area for the people that I'm looking for and it seems to be quite hard to find the pricing costs on some sites without actually joining up.

Thanks for the advice,
Liz

www.onlinesearches.info is only for the current electoral roll. You would need someone to go to the local library to the area which you are researching to find past electoral rolls. 192, I think have back to 2002
