Sharon put your brother's name in the quick search at the top of the screen, it should show who's tree he's in

not sure but you know what were like when you start out, bit excited thinking we have a match etc etc

we share everything without asking questions... you soon learn though dont we!!

Sharon, has anyone else got him in their tree that they may have seen?

"it's confidential" could not tell him that without the money!!! as he might contact that source

but he wasnt doing the tree at all, thats the strange thing

So, what was the reply when your brother asked where he got his info. from?

There are a lot of questions you need to consider.

Did this guy refer to your brother by his name?

Is your brother in the phone book?

Has anyone in your family inadvertently given away too much info that could be used to trace him?

Lets face it, everyone has a relation somewhere who is doing a tree.

Is it a scam? Well would you give $100 to a complete stranger?

About two weeks ago my brother got a phone call from America, and the man said to him we know you are looking for your family tree, and if you give us $100 as a retainer we can help you, so my brother said no.

Today he had another call from the same man saying the same thing, my brother asked him how he got his name and telephone number as he hasn't been looking for any thing on the family tree himself,

So I think somebody must of got the names from Genes as I have not got my names anywhere else, and he is not looking, but allowed me to put him on the tree.

I wondered if anyone else has had this ..is it they have been on genes, said they have same members, can they look at my hot matches, got my details and then decided to extract money?

is this a warning or is it genuine????
