I have just received the death certificate for a man who died in 1977 aged 73 who I believe to be my long-lost uncle

The address given is Pritchard House, 40 Brandon Street, SE17 (which is
Walworth, South London).

Was anyone living in the area at that time who may know the property.

I am curious as to whether it was a block of flats, a private residence or, in uncle Willie's case, probably a doss house. He lived an unsettled life, loved the ladies and booze and was in and out of Cane Hill Asylum.

I am taking granddaughter to the Pictures, oh mama mia!. so have to get ready for the off so will be back later.

Regards

Rita

Sad one, I have my GGF dying in a doss house in Bermondsey :(

Trouble is the place has probably been pulled down and replaced with fashionable flats now. You may have to ask the local archives what it was backthen. I had to do that for GGF as the doss house he was in is now a trendy arty cinema.
