I am trying to trace a birth certificate of someone who was born in Carlton in Nottinghamshire.

There are up to 8 likely candidates on freeBMD but I need to know what was the name of the registration district for Carlton in 1850?

I need to narrow the list down to begin checking birth certificates.

Thanks

Worth a look

Also bear in mind that the birth might not have been registered as it was not compulsory until 1875

If you click on the reg district then on the here, it will give you the area ,villages, covered in that district,
helpful when unsure of area

If you let me know the names I might be able to help with Baptisms and narrow things down
