I've spent the past two hours looking through old Toronto, Canada newspapers. I've found four bits of information about my ancestors, including a testimonial for "Norman's Electro & Curative Applicances" appearing in 1881:

"Toronto, October 10th, 1878
Mr. Norman,
Dear Sirs,-About three years ago I fell from a ladder about twleve feet, across the banister of the stairs, and was taken up for dead, since which time I have suffered severe pain in my back and side, and great weakness, unfitting me for business, and got very little ease until I used your Electric Belt and Insoles, which relieved me very much.
Yours truly, John Ovens, 125 Yonge Street"

John Ovens was my gr-gr-grandfather. The testimonial certainly tells me about his health during his last years. Thank you for giving me the chance to peer into the past.

Worked out my issue - was logging in before search - doesn't like it that way round - do my search first then login - works a treat.

Just caught me before going to work - I don't even get a list of papers up - have left it up to 5 mins and still nothing - will keep persisting - maybe its cookies, active x for something. Will try again tonight.

Hi Carole,

It does work, I just tried it but it takes a long time to load the Newspaper you want to view, you can then enter the year and date of the paper you want to view.

I didn't register just looked.

Does anyone use this site and if so do you have any luck with searching. I registered but get nothing when I hit the search button. Just wondering if others where experiencing the same issue. Emailed them last week and they said they were experiencing a few problems but still getting the same problem - just emailed them again - do you think they are kosher?
